ARC Service Terms

for author bookings

What a booking means, on both sides.

The terms governing ARC campaign bookings made through the Reading Room. Written to protect authors, readers, and the room itself, all at once.

Last updated 14 August 2026.

These terms cover author bookings made through the Reading Room. They protect three parties at once: you, the readers, and the room’s reputation.

The service

Campaign scope per package (Reader Blast, Blast + Mini Toolkit, Full ARC Campaign) is as described on Get Booked at the time of booking.

Booking & acceptance

A booking is a request until personally confirmed. This protects campaign quality and the roster: every campaign gets real attention, which means the calendar has a ceiling. If a slot can’t be confirmed, nothing is invoiced: there’s no payment to return, because none is taken before confirmation.

Honest-review policy

Reviews from readers are voluntary and honest. No review counts, ratings, or outcomes are promised or guaranteed, and readers are never directed to review positively or penalized for critical reviews. Requests to suppress, remove, or steer reader reviews cannot be accommodated at any price.

Fees & payment

Package prices are as listed on Get Booked at the time of booking, in US dollars. Nothing is charged when you submit a request. If your slot is confirmed, an invoice for the agreed package follows, payable in full before recruitment begins. Any processing or currency-conversion fees charged by your own bank or card are yours.

Refunds & cancellation

ARC campaign fees are non-refundable. A slot is confirmed only once, and confirming yours means turning other authors away, so the fee holds the calendar as much as it pays for the work. The one exception runs in your favor: if I can’t confirm your slot, you’re never invoiced at all, because nothing has started. Once a slot is confirmed the fee is committed, and where the calendar allows a campaign can be moved once to a later release at no extra charge. A campaign is never refunded on the basis of its results, because reader numbers and reviews are never guaranteed, by design.

Author responsibilities

Accurate book details (blurb, tropes, content warnings), a complete manuscript or ARC file by the agreed date, and working retail links for release week. Delays on these will shrink your campaign window. I cannot manufacture extra days before release.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, where Literary Inspired is based.
